Internalization

In the series Internalization, I am looking into my internal feelings and emotions of isolation and solitude through minimalistic landscapes. The landscapes contain a singular subject matter devoid of people. These feelings were heightened while present in each landscape I photographed, experiencing the vast openness and towering mountains. I felt small and unimportant all while being able to connect with something bigger than myself.
These landscapes are located in minimalistic areas of the Midwest as well as the mountainous and forested regions in the Northwest. They were photographed digitally in color with Canon cameras using panoramic, high dynamic range, and solitary image techniques. The landscapes printed with archival pigmented inks and wet transferred onto Arches 88 paper.
